Prospect is thrilled to have received two awards at the PPA Awards held last week.
Columnist/Expert Contributor of the Year: Alice Goodman
Alice Goodman, an Anglican priest, has been honoured with the Columnist/Expert Contributor of the Year award. The judges commended her on discussing big topics with empathy, compassion and bravery, with one noting that her writing brought them to tears.
Alice’s columns are part of Prospect Lives, our family of seven writers who discuss their differing views of life in modern Britain. It is edited by Sarah Collins who said: “Alice’s monthly vignettes are simultaneously moving and witty, vivid and punchy—and she tackles political topics with nuance.”
Podcast of the Year: Media Confidential
The Media Confidential team has been awarded Podcast of the Year. Judges praised it for finding a niche in a crowded marketplace of podcasts about media, thanks to the profile of its hosts Alan Rusbridger and Lionel Barber, and their remarkable ability to break stories on the podcast. Judges said it was very easy and enjoyable listening to two great editors chewing the fat in detail on a variety of interesting and relevant topics.
Mark Beard, Prospect CEO, said:
“I'm delighted. Media Confidential is a critical part of Prospect’s digital transformation. By leveraging our strength in trustworthy investigative journalism, embracing the podcast format and placing Prospect’s editor, Alan Rusbridger front and centre, we’ve successfully attracted new and diverse audiences into Prospect’s ecosystem.”
