The US government has ordered the evacuation of non-essential staff from its consulate in the Pakistani city of Lahore today, due to intelligence suggesting that an attack may occur. The American authorities have also warned its citizens against travelling to Pakistan.

A warning posted on the US Department of State’s website said:  “The Department of State ordered this drawdown due to specific threats concerning the U.S. consulate in Lahore.” The warning comes two days after a group of US diplomats were evacuated…
