Heart disease, diabetes and obesity set to overwhelm NHS

The Daily Telegraph highlights a government report into the future impact on the NHS of “lifestyle diseases.” The report forecasts that “three-quarters of the population could be suffering from the effects of heart disease, diabetes and related illnesses within two decades,” suggesting that with cuts to nursing staff and the increasing tendency of people to live longer with diseases, a healthcare crisis is approaching.
