Ivan Krastev is a Bulgarian political scientist who is chairman of the Centre for Liberal Strategies in Sofia and a permanent fellow at the Institute for Human Sciences in Vienna (IWM). He has worked extensively with the European Union and written about a broad range of topics, notably the integration of the new EU member states.
