Arundhati Roy is the celebrated author of the 1997 Man Booker Prize-winning novel The God of Small Things. Since then she has focused on political activism, writing regular columns for Indian, British and American publications on issues including the status of women in Indian society, corporate corruption and Kashmiri independence.
