Prospect Book Club—Sam Leith
Prospect columnist, Literary Editor of the Spectator and now writing advice guru Sam Leith kicks off the New Year at the Book Club. Write to the Point is Leith’s complete guide to persuasive writing—from writing a job application to posting a tweet. Along the way he explores—and where necessary explodes—hoary bits of style advice. Should you really avoid splitting infinitives? Is the passive voice always worse than the active? In what promises to be an entertaining evening, Leith will also chat about being a Literary Editor and what role cultural gatekeepers play in the industry.
