James Graham in conversation with Tom Clark
James Graham established himself as Britain’s pre-eminent political playwright in his 20s, when he created a blockbuster, This House, in the unlikely setting of the Whips’ Office during the 1970s Labour government. On the stage, he has since tackled Murdoch and Fleet Street the travails of the British left and written screenplays for TV about the Cameron coalition and most recently Brexit.
Earlier this year, he profiled one of the most theatrical of Parliamentarians, Speaker John Bercow, for Prospect, whose editor Tom Clark will now be asking Graham about the state of our nation, our public discussion and the links between the political and the literal stage.
