Margaret Hodge, MP for Barking will be our first guest of the New Year at our Book Club on Monday, 16th January 2017.  In her new book, Called to Account, she recalls the five years she spent as Chair of the influential Public Accounts Committee interrogating big companies about how much tax they really pay the Treasury.  She was equally severe on government waste and poor public procurement and takes us through the big institutions, from the NHS to Amazon, and asks what has gone wrong and what we can do about it.
