Coming at you live from Manchester

Tom Chatfield  —  30th November 2007

A short trailer—in that, on Monday 3rd December, I will be blogging live for Prospect from the sell-out debate between Martin Amis and Terry Eagleton on “literature and terrorism” that’s taking place at the University of Manchester. It begins at 6.30pm from which time the wonders of Prospect technology will allow me to bring you every last mental blow and parry online.

That’s the plan, at least. If my mobile phone packs up, there’ll be light music instead…

  1. Apparently, Eagleton has pulled out due to “international commitments”. At least, that’s what this website here says. Damn.

  2. Thanks for pointing this out: sad news indeed. I’m not sure how much fun solo-Mart reporting will be, but my tickets are booked, so I guess we’ll have a full editorial debate on Monday and see what can be made of the situation . . .

  3. I wouldn’t just take the word of a student website, though. Might be a bit one-sided if Eagleton isn’t there, but Husain and Freely should give good debate. :)
